History of the ERNC

The Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council was not formed overnight.  There was a great deal of work dedicated to its creation.  What began as an idea slowly began to materialize into reality.  The Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council Formation Committee was composed of community activists.  Together, they appointed10 members to the interim board and held a small election for another 6.  This group of stakeholders began the legwork for the formation of the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council (ERNC).  Once bylaws were in place, boundaries defined, and all other details ironed out, the ERNC was certification by The Board of Neighborhood Commissioners on April 2nd, 2002.

Purpose of the ERNC

The ERNC is an official city organization, staffed with volunteers and given a working budget of $45,000 per year. We consider issues relevant to our community and make recommendations to the City of Los Angeles, City Council and the Mayor. We also fund or partially fund community projects. All meetings of the ERNC Board of Directors and its committees are open to the public. There is a public comment period on each agenda item, as well as for non-agenda items you may wish to speak about. These meetings are our chance to hear from you about the issues facing our community, and about things you want us to know. We want to hear from you, so please attend and participate.
